Âmbito e conteúdo

The EU-Africa Joint Strategy represents an ambitious policy framework that moves away from donor-beneficiary relations and, instead, provides an equal relation to both. It also affords a Political Dialogue for the discussion of common concerns; research for a joint response to global challenges; promotion of key issues for development; tackling new areas and cooperation and promotion of a broad-based-people-centred partnership. In that context, it has created eight thematic partnerships for concrete action with tangible results. The present article thus pinpoints the results and consequent challenges entailed in each of the thematic partnership, stressing the importance of political ambition and a “people-based” dimension in the project.
