Unequal relations between countries and regions (such as the Euro-African case) for the author can only be meaningful and sustainable when they are based on mutual benefits. Intercontinental cooperation has a good basis in following the progress of the European integration process and in strengthening African unity. Nevertheless, an in-depth understanding and analysis of asymmetries is needed if the Europe-Africa dialogue is to be improved and deepened.
